Henry the eighth was born on June 28 in the year of 1491. He was crowned king on April 21, 1509, at age 18. His death was on January 28, 1547. The first thing that Henry did as king was he lowered taxes but eventuallly raise them and the executed the organisers of the tax regime. This got Henry off to a good start because this insured that the people liked him. In Henry's youth years he was handsome and athletic not the fat chunky king he would become later on. King Henry was the second son therefore he was not expected to become king. King Henry took the trown after his brother Aurther died. Auther was married to Catherine of Aragon. King Henry was tall and had a bright red-gold cap of hair and a beard. After he became king he started to get fatter and unhealthy. King Henry was most known for his six wives. The first wife Catherine of Aragon they were married from 1509-1533 and then got divorced. henry was denied permission from the pope to divorce. This made it so Henry broke away from the church and made the church of England. The next wife is Anne Boleyn they were married 1533-1536 then she was executed. The third wife was Jane Seymour, they were married for one year then she died. The fourth wife is Anne of Cleves, they were married from 1540 Jan-July but then they got divorced. The next wife was Kathryn Howard they were married 1540-1542 then she was executed. The last wife was Katherine Parr they were married from1543-1547 until King Henry's death. Henry and Catherine of Aragon's fist child was a son named Henry but died two mounths later. Anne Boleyn gave Henry a daughter. Jane Setmour died giving birth to Henry's heir who was named Edward. Henry was the father and Anne Boleyn was the mother of Elizabeth I. During King Henry's kinghood Englands navy increased from 5 ships to 60 ships. In 1511 King Henry joined Pope Juluis II, Ferdinand II of Aragon, The Holy Roman Emperor Maximilian, and the Venetians in the Holy league against France. The Holy league was for expelling Louis of France from Italy. The compaign organized by Henry's minister Thomas, had little success. In 1542 war had begun with Scotland, England was always having problems with them. Scotland was controlled through James V by French and Catholic interests. Henry forced the Scotts to sign a treaty in 1543 of marriage between Mary Queen of Scotts and his son Edward. Henry soon joined Charles Holy Roman Emperor as of 1519 in a war against France. This war lasted until 1546. When he died in 1547 he was hoping to be succeeded by a son but it was Elizabeth I who became one of the greatest English Rulers.

Elizabeth was caught in stuggles for power against the Protestants and the Catholics. Elizabeth was taught Greek, Latin, Spanish, French, History, Philosophy and Mathematics. She also wrote a lot of poetry.Elizabeth was a gifted student and was liked by everyone who taught her. Rodger Ascham was one of Elizabeth's tutors said she was on of the best he had ever taught. Soon in to her teen years her relationship with Edward began to suffer. The heir in English law was Mary, Elizabeth's sister. Edward died on July 6 1553. Mary and Elizabeth soon went to England.Soon Mary became queen of England. Elizabeth was looked up for supposedley working a plan to overthrow her sister. Marry and Prince Philip son of the emperor Charles would marry. Thomas Wyatt rebeiled to this and had a plot to over throw marry for Elizabeth. It would start with Elizabeth marrying Edward Courtenay to make sur a English person would get the thrown. Marry got sucpicous with Marry though so she got locked up in the tower she was scared because this is a place where her mother went and never returned. That is how she ended up in the tower of England. Elizabeth was held in the bell tower. The Marry's men even urged her to execute Elizabeth.Elizabeth was released after two mounths in the tower. Then she was taken to the mannor of Woodstock, near Oxfordshrine. While she was going there people cheered for her. The was kept in this prison for a year. Elizabeth was kept a sharp eye on during her time imprisoned. Since Marry was Catholic and was now pregnant it seemed as if a protestant ruler was impossible. This news concered Elizabeth. One thing happened though Marry was never pregnant at all, she never really nknew because she doesn't have all the tests we have today. Marry was burning people at the stakes and England's last land in FranceCalias was distroyed. Elizabeth was at her home when Marry died on November 17, 1558. Elizabethwas only 25 when this happened. This is how she became queen. Every one was wondering who the queen would marry right when she became queen. Elizabeth was given marrial from the king of Spain and the prince of Sweden. She politly rejected their offers. Elizabeth just personally perfered a single life. Elizabeth did once though think about marrying a noble. The noble was her horse master. When Elizabeth's horse master's wife died may beleived that he killed her to be with the queen. The two were not married. Francis duke of Alencon was announced to be a suit for Elizabeth and they wee going to be married. She was in her forties at this time. After almost ten years of thuaght she forgot about idea. Elizabeth was very attached to england. She had a vey smart political genuis. She knighted sir Francis drake. She beat the spanish armada. Using burnung ships to burn the other ships. She listened o the people and even changed some polocies. England dominated under her rule became one of the most powerful countries in Europe.
Bloody Mary: She was the queen of England for five years from 1553-1558. Mary was born on February 18, 1516 daughter of Catherine of Aragon and daughter of Henry the VIII. She died on November 17, 1558 at age 42. Some people believe she died of influenza and some believe she died of stomach cancer. Mary was the oldest child of king Henry.She was promised in marriage to the prince son of Francis the first of france and later to emperor Charles V. A treaty granted a promise to Mary to marry to Francis I or his second son. After this treaty Henry began the process of divorcing his wife. This divorce was hard on Mary. Mary ended up having 4 step-mothers and one real mother. The fith wife of Henry Mary was acually older than them. The sixth wife, Katherine Parr and Mary got along well and became friends This two people did have differences in the religious fieldMary did not like the divorce so Henry gave the title of princess to Elizabeth. Mary was retitled Lady Mary. Mary was sent to serve the new princess. Soon after she signed a paper accepting the divorce and restoring her the title of princess. Mary was a die hard Roman catholic like her mother. When her brother Edward was king Protestant population was increasing this angered Mary. Mary's little brother was only 9 years of age when he became king. After Edward's death Mary became queen. Not yet though Edward left the crown to his cousin Jane. She was only queen for 9 mounths, than it was Mary's turn. Edward died with a coughing disease called tuberculosis. Mary was the queen of England and Ireland. Mary became queen July 1553. Mary tried to raise the Catholic population but her attempts were not supported by the people. As the people refused to became Catholics Mary came up with harsher and harsher punishments and eventually burned people at the stake. She burned over 300 people at the stake. Earning the name "Bloody Mary." Mary went all out with the burnings. When Mary became queen a major must on her list was to find a husband. Mary hoped to believe she was pregnant. This was good news for her because she had a good chance to restore the Catholic religion back in England. She wa never really pregnant though. Mary married Prince Philip the II of Spain. Plots to get rid of Mary were going on right now so she accused the person next in line Elizabeth. War broke out with Franceand Philip went to the battle. When she thaught she was pregnant agian but wasn't she had no choice but to give the crown to her sister Elizabeth. In 1558 in November the priest gave Mary her last rights and passed away leaving it up to her half sisiter to restore Catholic faith in England.
